Drive through Little Caesars coming to Alma with franchise relocation

The Little Caesars pizza restaurant in Alma is planning on relocating, but not very far from its original location.

According to Alma assistant city manager Aeric Ripley, the franchise of the pizza chain will be moving to the former site of the Commercial Bank building on 1500 Wright Ave. from its current location at 1600 Wright Ave. He said the building plan for the former Commercial Bank site is not changing; all of the work to be done will be interior work.

Additionally, a drive-through window is planned for picking up orders of pizza, bread sticks and soda.

It is unknown when the relocation will take place. At its May 1 meeting, the Alma Planning Commission unanimously approved a site plan for a B-2 general business district.

A B-2 general business district is defined as providing a district in which the community's overall commercial and business facilities can be centralized to most efficiently and effectively serve the general community and adjacent areas. The planned use by Little Caesars is permitted in the B-2 district.

According to Ripley, the next steps are for construction plans and drawings to be submitted to the city by the architect on the project, Roger Donaldson.

The Little Caesars property is owned by Bobenal Investments out of East Lansing and the former Commercial Bank property is owned by Commercial National Bank.
