Since 1989, Ryan Engine Exchange locations have been installing remanufactured engines. Customers bring in an old engine and exchange it for a new one, which is installed on the premises. Using a system developed by the company's founder, Greg Ryan, old engines are refurbished in 3 days.
Dallas Wallace began selling tire supplies to service stations and garages in 1963, expanding product lines and distributors as business grew throughout the '60s and '70s. Mighty Distribution System of America started franchising in 1970 and is still a privately held company that provides underhood and undercar parts at locations nationwide.
