    Ray Kroc, a milkshake mixer salesman, ventured to California in 1954 to visit McDonald's hamburger stand, where he heard they were running eight mixers at once. Kroc was impressed by how rapidly customers were served and, seeing an opportunity to sell many more milkshake machines, encouraged brothers Dick and Mac McDonald to open a chain of their restaurants. Kroc became their business partner and opened the first McDonald's in Des Plaines, Illinois in 1955.

    Currently, there are three locations and an express style restaurant that sit adjacent to the Silver Spring, MD store. Negril Eatery locations offer a limited menu, which translates into simplified operations. Patties, pastries and rotis are expertly prepared in the Negril central commissary, located in Laurel, MD which then distributes them frozen to all Negril Eatery locations where they are baked off and offered as freshly baked. With the popularity of the restaurant and the Express, Earl seeks to expand his business and take a taste of his homeland food to the world.
