Robert McDonald enjoyed working in the pizza business. When he was suddenly terminated from his job with an Indiana pizza restaurant, he decided to start his own pizza chain. When Ron Epple, who had worked with McDonald as director of franchise training, heard what his old co-worker was up to, he asked to be part of it.
In 1979, the two founded Chicago's Pizza. At lunchtime, restaurants serve pizzas by the slice or in seven-inch rounds from counters and drive-thru windows. In the evening, customers can use the drive-thru window to pick up phone orders. Most of the locations also have dining rooms where customers can enjoy Chicago's 29-inch pizza.
The company has franchises in Indiana and Ohio. There is also a Chicago's Pizza location in Seville, Spain.
Our visionary founder assembled a group of recognized restaurant experts
and partnered with internationally renowned chefs to create an
exceptional dining experience at a concept that is uniquely special, but
still replicable. Now, Firo is bringing it’s fire kissed pizza to other
parts of the country through the Firo Fire Kissed Pizza franchise
program. Now is your chance to own a piece of the pie with your own Firo
Fire Kissed Pizza restaurant.
As we set our sights on growing this exceptional concept, it’s good to
know the pizza restaurant industry earns annual revenue of $39 billion
in sales and expected to increase. According to the USDA about one in
eight Americans consume pizza on any given day. There is no doubt that
Americans love their pizzas and savvy business entrepreneurs will love
our franchise program.Next comes the main ingredient, training. You and your managers will
be thoroughly trained at headquarters in Lawton, Oklahoma. The Firo team
will lead you through both classroom and on-the-job training. In the
classroom, some of the topics that will be covered are guest service,
kitchen and food prep steps, inventory, accounting procedures,
management techniques, use of software systems, and much more.
