Zyng Asian Grill adds low-carb sauce to its already low fat options

Zyng Asian Grill, formerly Zyng Noodlery, rounds out their healthy menu by adding low-carb meal options. The first low-carb menu in the Pan-Asian segment, Zyng Asian Grill is now introducing low-carb teriyaki sauces in its restaurants across North America. The new sauce will provide a low carb option to Zyng’s Yakitori Teriyaki (grilled chicken satays) and the customized meals in a bowl in which customers can choose a sauce, protein and vegetables and simply omit the noodles or choose to have whole wheat noodles.

Zyng Asian Grill prides itself on complying with today’s health eating lifestyle. The restaurant already prepares all meals on a flat, teppanyaki grill as opposed to the traditional wok cooking that other Asian restaurants rely on. The fresh, healthy, menu also includes salads such as Samurai Soba Salad, and tossed Asian Salad Bowl as well as appetizers like Zyng’s Magnificent Mandarin Mu Shu Lettuce Wraps and Zaru Soba, made with buckwheat noodles which are low-fat and low carb.

“Our restaurant is based on the idea of fresh, healthy great tasting food. We wanted to offer something for those looking for low-carb meals without having to sacrifice taste or having to opt for high fat foods,” Dan Rowe CEO of Zyng Asian Grill stated. “While most Chinese restaurants rely on deep fat frying in woks, we combine only a trace amount of oil and the natural moisture of the food and sauces to cook our meals. By adding a low-carb teriyaki, one of the most popular of Asian sauces, we are providing our signature dishes without the sugar and starches and without sacrificing flavor,” he added. “Subway is making sandwiches low-carb and we are making teppanyaki (flat-top cooking) low-carb.” Zyng Asian Grill blends the most popular cuisines from China, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and Singapore into one Pan Asian format. The restaurant concept was founded in 1998 in Montreal after Restaurateur Arnold Shostak went on a culinary tour of Asia. Now headquartered in Alexandria, VA., Zyng currently has over 200 units in development throughout North America with two additional restaurants scheduled to open this month. The restaurants are approximately 3000 square feet and seat 80-100 guests.
