About Kidzone

STATEN ISLAND, NY | Friday, December 30, 2005

KIDZONE was born out of Frank Mirabella's desire to spend more time with his wife, Cindy, and their young son, Frank, Jr. A hard-working and ambitious young man, Frank spent several years moving up the ladder at a New Jersey car dealership. But his time was not his own. Ten-hour days were keeping him from enjoying his family and the fruits of his labor. So Frank and Cindy began looking for another way for Frank to make a living, one that would give him more time to spend with his family.

Then one day, when they weren't even looking for it...the idea came to them.

Frank and Cindy were planning a big party lots of kids, lots of moms -- for Frank Jr.’s birthday. They were looking at public party places, but they weren’t happy with what they found. Like many young parents, they knew first-hand the problems of cleanliness, crowding, food quality, customer service, and “canned” entertainment that plague those venues not to mention the critical issues of safety and security. Also, they couldn’t find a party place that had the room to accommodate both children and family. They would have to hold two separate parties; and so they wondered, when it comes to party places, where can you go? What can you do? There seemed to be so few quality choices. Cindy talked with her mother, Connie Trochiano, and came up with the answer. With their talents, they would start their own party place businessand make it great. Naming their new business “KIDZONE ,” Frank and Cindy’s business concept focused on personalized, private parties, with creative activities that would be supervised freeing up the parents to relax and enjoy themselves! They found excellent space in a nearby building that Connie recommended. Starting with a single, large party room on the second floor, they eventually expanded to two large party rooms when space opened up on the first floor. In addition to their love for children, here was a business to which Frank and Cindy could bring their own special, complementary talents. For Frank, it meant utilizing his outstanding gifts for entrepreneurship, salesmanship, and operations management. For Cindy, it meant putting into practice her superb, creative talents for children’s arts, crafts, games, and music, as well as her keen sense for purchasing creative supplies and party goods at excellent, wholesale prices. Rounding out this talented family-owned and operated business was Bill Trochiano, Connie’s husband and Cindy’s father, who joined them as a consultant. With a Doctorate in Education from Teachers’ College, Columbia University, and with many years of experience in corporate executive management, Bill focused on business development, strategy and finance. Also, with post-doctoral study in “multiple intelligences,” Bill brought invaluable guidance in structuring the children’s entertainment programs, especially in the areas of visual, auditory, spatial, artistic, and tactile/kinesthetic activities. Today, Frank and Cindy, who are now the proud parents of two children, Frank, Jr., and daughter, Kristin, have built a family-owned company that gives them time and joy. Over the years, they have refined their KIDZONE party and play facility, as well as their business concept and system. Now, they are ready to provide an outstanding business opportunity for others who love children, are ambitious, are hard working, and who want to share in making memories and spreading the joy of childhood.
