Shake’s Frozen Custard Provides Concrete Treats To Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Crew

FAYETTEVILLE, ARK | Tuesday, August 30, 2005

Shake’s Frozen Custard served its famous Concrete treats, which consists of frozen custard lightly blended with various toppings, to construction workers building a new home for ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” at Camp Barnabas in Purdy, Mo., on Friday, August 19. Over 400 construction crew members of PB2 Companies, based in Rogers, Ark., were served the gourmet dessert while rebuilding a house for Paul and Cyndy Teas, owners of Camp Barnabas, which is a refuge for young people struggling with illness or physical challenges. With the efforts of 2,000 workers, consisting of volunteers and local contractors, the Teas are now living in their new home. The show is set to air sometime in October.

Shake’s Frozen Custard was founded in 1991 by Don and Debbie Osborne. The company is known for gourmet ice cream that is made fresh hourly using premium ingredients and the Osborne’s family recipe. Based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Shake’s began franchising in 1999 and has since grown to 46 corporate and franchised stores in nine states. For more information, visit www.shakesfrozencustard.com.
