Boston's The Gourmet Pizza Debuts In Grapevine

GRAPEVINE, TX | Tuesday, May 10, 2005

Boston's the Gourmet Pizza is planning a dynamic entry into the Grapevine area with the opening of its first location at 1713 Crossroads Drive on Tuesday, May 10. Led by a team that includes Richard Ervin, Max Cannon, Babe Laufenberg, and Dan Voshall, members of the Boston's of Grapevine partnership, this Boston's restaurant is the first planned for the northeast Tarrant County region of the Dallas/Ft/ Worth Metroplex. Fusing a family friendly casual dining restaurant with a sports bar, Boston's offers a complete menu with more than 25 gourmet pizzas and 13 gourmet pastas, abundant lunch specials, gourmet salads and sports bar favorites, such as chicken wings and ribs. The Boston's of Grapevine partnership team is hiring more than 150 employees for the 306-seat Grapevine restaurant, which reflects a contemporary dinner house theme with soft yet bold colors, stone accents and intimate seating throughout the family friendly restaurant and adjacent sports bar area. "Boston's has a lively, upbeat atmosphere, more than 100 signature menu items, the largest children's menu in town and excellent service," says Richard Ervin, franchisee of the Grapevine Boston's restaurant. "Plus, we will continue serving our full menu until closing time, which makes our restaurant and bar a perfect location for late-night patrons. We're unique in the marketplace in that we truly offer something for everyone." According to Ervin, the Grapevine restaurant features several unique traits that set it apart from other local dining venues, including one of the only outdoor patios and full-service sports bars in the area featuring eight 42" televisions and three plasma TVs with satellite dishes to showcase sports and special events. The glass-enclosed outside patio is complete with heaters, making it available for al fresco dining three seasons a year. In celebration of its upcoming opening, the owners are hosting a private grand opening party for local dignitaries and VIPs on Saturday evening, May 10. To celebrate its entry into the local market, Boston's will make a contribution to Grapevine Relief & Community Exchange ("GRACE"). Founded in 1987 when nine area churches recognized the need to coordinate assistance, GRACE grew out of their desire to help more people effectively. By combining efforts with local civic organizations, GRACE is a joint civic-ecumenical project and is thereby non-denominational. The non-profit organization provides food, clothing, and other vital necessities to people in the area who are in need. "We're looking forward to becoming fully integrated into the local community by supporting Grapevine Relief & Community Exchange," said Jim Treliving, Boston's President and CEO. "We're honored to be associated with this important local organization." Tapped to run the new restaurant is Conan Spears, General Manager, and Oscar Castillo, who will serve as Kitchen Manager. Industry veterans, both men have served in the hospitality industry the majority of their careers. This is the first restaurant venture for Grapevine area residents and franchisees: Ervin, Canon, Laufenberg, and Voshall.
