Case Design/Remodeling, Inc. (www.casedesign.com), the nation's largest full service remodeling organization is kicking off its forty-five year anniversary with a number of activities planned for 2006. Beginning with the launch of its Case Cares Community Outreach Initiative this February, the celebrations will culminate at the Annual Case Carnival in the summer. "For forty-five years, Case has set the industry standard for home improvement and remodeling with superior service and a client centric approach to business," remarked Case Design/Remodeling President Mark Richardson. "Many of the systems and processes that are utilized by companies in the remodeling industry can be attributed to Case's innovative thinking." In 1961, Frederic F. Case founded Case Construction Company out of the basement of his home, during a period when the perception of remodeling was less favorable and viewed by the public as something that homeowners primarily did on old houses in old neighborhoods. As the sixties came to an end, Case's influence on the industry began to take shape. In the 1970's, Case pioneered the design/build process in the remodeling industry, bringing design in-house and creating a two-step process, which later evolved into a three-step process. In the early 1980's, Case changed its name to Case Design/Remodeling, Inc. As its reputation grew, another movement started to unfold as homeowners began to ask for advice on how to tackle smaller home improvement projects in a low risk, professional manner. In response to this demand, Case launched its handyman division, which introduced professional, reliable home repair and maintenance services to consumers. As the division expanded, remodelers from across the country began to inquire about starting a handyman division that mirrored the Case model. In 1997, Case Handyman Services (the franchise) was created, offering its systems and processes to franchisees nationwide. Today, Case is an eighty five million dollar a year operation and the country's largest full service remodeling organization, with four D.C. area offices and seventy franchise locations. Industry leaders have credited Fred Case for his significant and lasting impact in the industry. In 2002, he was inducted into the National Remodeling Hall of Fame. "Case's impact and longevity can be attributed to our continuous pioneering efforts in the remodeling industry," says Richardson. "As a catalyst for innovation and growth, we will continue to serve as a resource for consumers and maintain our strong leadership position through our corporate headquarters and talented franchisees."
