As part of the grand opening, Duke Sandwich Company has partnered with the Calvary Home for Children, an organization providing long-term Christian care to children in need. A portion of the week's peanut butter and jelly sandwich sales will be donated to the organization.
"It is exciting for us to begin our business by helping the community," said Don West, franchise owner. "Community service is part of the Duke Sandwich tradition, and we look forward to upholding that commitment." The new Duke Sandwich mascot, Duke the Dog, will be on hand to host a variety of games, contests and prizes.
More Duke Sandwich franchise locations are scheduled to open throughout the fall and into next year. The new restaurants will be located in Spartanburg, Clemson and Powdersville. Duke Sandwich also plans to open new franchise restaurants in Myrtle Beach, Columbia and Statesboro, Georgia.
