Medicine Shoppe International, Inc. Teams Up With Memberhealth, Inc. To Provide Pharmacy Services Around The 2006 Medicare Prescription Drug Program

Medicine Shoppe International, Inc. (MSI), a Cardinal Health Company (NYSE: CAH) and the largest franchisor of independent community pharmacies, has established a relationship with MemberHealth, Inc. to provide pharmacy services to Medicare Part D eligible beneficiaries across the nation. MSI also will provide Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services for MemberHealth, Inc. through its Medicine Shoppe Pharmacies and Medicap Pharmacy Stores using a web based MTM secure messaging platform provided by Community MTM Services LLC, a subsidiary of the National Community Pharmacists Association MemberHealth, Inc.'s Medicare Part D prescription drug plan, Community Care Rx SM, offers eligible seniors and disabled individuals extensive prescription drug coverage at their local pharmacies. The Community Care Rx SM program provides Medicare beneficiaries the opportunity to purchase a 90-day supply of medications at retail pharmacy, as opposed to mail, which is a unique offering among the ten national providers that are approved today to offer Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage. The plan also promotes the pharmacist's role in providing MTM services to eligible beneficiaries, and offers coverage in the United States, Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands.
