Tss Photography Changes Hands, Focuses On Aggressive National Expansion

Sunday, October 01, 2006

TSS Photography President Joe Lindenmayer, along with Carl Hansson, CEO and company co-founder, announced today they are now official co-owners of the 225-unit national youth sports and school photography franchise providing a seamless transition for future company growth and continued franchisee support.

As Dan Burgner, one of the original founders of the 23-year-old TSS Photography (formerly The Sports Section), passes the torch, Lindenmayer and Hansson have significantly increased their vested interest in the company. Lindenmayer has gradually expanded his leadership role at TSS Photography over the past several years. He joined the company as a Field Sales Consultant in 1993 then moved to Tampa to run a Franchise before rejoining the corporate team as development director, then vice president in June of 2000, and eventually taking on the presidency in October 2005. In recent years, Burgner and Hansson played more of a behind-the-scenes role in the company as TSS Photography's prominent community philanthropists and leadership advisors.

"For TSS Photography franchisees, it will be business as usual taking pictures at sports, school, and community events, backed as always by strong support from the home office," Lindenmayer said. "Carl and I, along with our tremendous HQ support staff, look forward to continuing to build upon and carry out the goals that were set in the past, including further investments in technology for TSS franchisees. We will dedicate the resources to enhance our franchise partner support, brand awareness and system growth, always keeping quality customer service, growth and community outreach as priorities in all of the territories we serve." Lindenmayer noted that Hansson will remain CEO along with Chairman of TSS Photography. He's also given much of his time and will continue his position as National Board Chairman of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, which is TSS's core charity of choice. "I am more excited than ever to help lend my experience and energy to TSS Photography and strengthen our commitment and partnership with our Franchisees," Hansson said. Along with Hansson and Lindenmayer, there is an ownership team of the company CFO, Tom Michaud, and Board Advisor, Will Lindenmayer, who's been a financial consultant with TSS since 2003. Lindenmayer and Hansson both believe in the ‘strength in numbers' philosophy.

"By having an ownership team in place, including an outside advisor with no operational involvement, TSS is positioned to be able to view the business from all angles in order to reach new levels of success. Our franchisees are our No. 1 priority and now we are able to focus on reaching our potential with the means to achieve it," Joe Lindenmayer said.

TSS Photography is also aggressively expanding across the nation, recently signing franchise development agreements in Hennepin County, Minnesota; Muscogee County, Georgia; Atlantic County, New Jersey; and Burke, Catawba, Iredell and Lincoln Counties in North Carolina. Further fueling TSS Photography's growth is the addition of franchise apprentices to work under existing TSS Photography franchisees in Warren County, New Jersey; San Francisco County, California; Bucks County, Pennsylvania; and Montgomery and Harris Counties in Texas.

With more than 225 U.S. franchises photographing more than 1.5 million young athletes and students per year, the enhanced TSS Photography brand now encompasses sports and school photography, as well as photography for corporations, church groups and other community organizations. Products and services include multiple package options and many exclusive products along with class composites, ID Cards, and many items for making a group or school stand out in their community.

In addition, every picture day order that TSS delivers to parents also includes a free child identification card endorsed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) just one example of the company's dedication to child safety. "The ID card we donate helps demonstrate our commitment to keeping children safe, which is a very important element of our mission of having a positive impact in the communities we serve." About TSS Photography TSS Photography, founded in 1983, has grown to more than 225 units in four countries and 42 states and is now the number one choice in youth photography. Over the next five years, TSS Photography anticipates to grow to 450 units. For more information please visit www.tssphotography.com.
