Restaurant opening creates 115 new jobs
Boston Pizza International Inc. announces the grand opening of its newest restaurant and sports bar in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia on Tuesday, October 25th, 2005. The new restaurant is owned and operated by Bridgewater's own Nauss Group, who also own the local TIM-BR Mart, and several other companies. The Nauss' have hired 115 people to work in the restaurant, making them one of the South Shore's top employers. "We love the food and fun atmosphere that Boston Pizza offers," says operating partner Shawn Nauss, who really enjoyed the concept after dining at Boston Pizza in Halifax. "We knew we wanted to bring the same experience to the South Shore. In fact, Boston Pizza has been a tremendous success in many small towns across the country, often becoming the meeting place for families, friends and sports fans." Boston Pizza Bridgewater is located at 485 Hwy. #10, across from the Walmart. With seating for 250 people, Boston Pizza features a full-service casual dining restaurant, licensed sports bar and seasonal patio. With more than 100 menu items, guests can choose from 23 different varieties of gourmet pizzas, plus pasta, appetizers, ribs, meal-size salads, sandwiches and desserts. In keeping with their commitment to the local community, the staff of Boston Pizza Bridgewater will donate all proceeds from tips generated through six practice serving rounds to the Children's Wish Foundation. A cheque presentation will be made at the grand opening party on Saturday, October 22nd. Boston Pizza Bridgewater will be an active member of the community throughout the year and will sponsor local sports teams, schools and charities. They will also support the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Kids Help Phone, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation through the Boston Pizza Foundation, which has raised more than $3.75 million for various Canadian charities since 1990. The chain presently has locations in Halifax, Dartmouth, Sackville, and Sydney and plans to continue its expansion across Nova Scotia. Boston Pizza Bridgewater is the fifth location to open in the province.
