New Team Plans Growth Through Operational Excellence

BRANTFORD, ONTARIO | Monday, March 06, 2006

Williams Coffee Pub Inc. has changed its ownership and will be fine-tuning its operations as it makes a big expansion push across Ontario. Dean Braund gained controlling interest of Williams in January and has recently solidified his team by bringing in experience from both the QSR and Casual Dining sectors.

"We have an opportunity to revitalize the Williams brand," says Dean Braund, Owner and CEO of Williams Coffee Pub Inc. "It starts with making sure that every guest is wowed inside our restaurants." Dean Braund is a veteran of the foodservice industry having started a roadhouse in Brantford 25 years ago, before becoming a Wendy's franchisee in 1990. Braund and his team grew that business to 15 locations, winning many awards in the process. His new management team at Williams includes expertise from the QSR and Casual Dining sectors while maintaining the experience that was already in the Williams system. Ron Baugh has taken over as Chief Operating Officer. After starting his foodservice career at Weber's Restaurant in Orillia, Baugh honed his approach to operational excellence as the VP Operations for Second Cup and as the VP Western Canada for Wendy's. Most recently, Baugh was COO for Harvey's Restaurants.

Also joining the Williams team is Neal Muschett as VP of Marketing. Muschett started his career at DIAGEO Canada, building brands like Smirnoff Vodka, before moving to Molson Canada. He spent the past 4 years helping Boston Pizza grow, as their Director of Marketing in Eastern Canada. "Ron and Neal are great additions to an already terrific team" says Dean Braund. "They will help focus on delivering an outstanding experience for our guests while building the profits for our franchisees." Williams Coffee Pub Inc has over 40 fast casual restaurants across Ontario. In 2003, Williams won the Foodservice and Hospitality Pinnacle Award for Entrepreneurship. It plans to grow by focusing on operational excellence and solidifying its brand position, while building new corporate and franchised stores.
