Rent-a-wreck Of Oneonta Celebrates Twenty Year Anniversary

Scott Davis, owner and operator of Rent-A-Wreck of Oneonta the convenient and cost-saving neighborhood car rental company, is celebrating his 20 th year of success this month.

Since joining the Rent-A-Wreck system, the Oneonta fleet has grown from only 5 vehicles to a 50-strong fleet of brand new and like-new cars and vans. Located at 48 Oneida Street, Scott's Rent-A-Wreck is one of more than 300 franchise locations worldwide.

Becoming Rent-A-Wreck's owner 20 years ago has been a natural progression for Scott, who has been involved with cars for most of his life. Scott's father, William Davis has been in the automobile business for over 55 years. Today Scott and his father are partners in Otsego Automotive - a Cadillac, Buick, Pontiac, GMC and Mitsubishi dealership in Oneonta.

Adding Rent-A-Wreck to Otsego Automotive wasn't the only thing Scott did to improve his work in the community. He also added Penske Truck Rental and West-End Self Storage facility to the list, extending his services to everyone like people on business trips, tourists, local colleges and people needing insurance replacements. Scott also enjoys sponsoring a number of youth sports teams and a variety of other local events and organizations.

"The most pleasant thing about staying in this business for twenty years has been providing great service and helping to make life easier for the very same people that have supported us when we were just starting out," said Scott, adding that they've recently renovated a new location for Rent-A-Wreck's office to match the updated fleet and make it a more pleasant environment for his loyal customers. "We've made the Rent-A-Wreck name stand for quality and service by providing great cars for at a better price than our competitors," he continued, noting that none of this would have been possible without a great team of employees.

Rent-A-Wreck rents new and used cars, vans and trucks. Used vehicles are typically two to four years old. Every Rent-A-Wreck vehicle is expertly serviced and safety inspected before each rental. Most standard sizes and models, including vans and trucks are available.
