Sunbelt Founder Named Leader Of Principle

Ed Pendarvis, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Sunbelt�, was recently inducted into The Citadel School of Business Hall of Frame as a Leader of Principle. Mr. Pendarvis was recently honored at The Citadel's Holliday Alumni Center.

"It is a privilege to be honored by the institution that has been an instrumental component of my career," stated Ed Pendarvis. "It is humbling to join such an esteemed group of honorees and I accept this on behalf of small business, the Class of '65, my wife and myself." A Leader of Principle has experienced substantial success in business or public service and has made significant contributions to his or her community. While recipients are not required to be alumni of The Citadel, their values should support those of the School of Business. Previous recipients include Ernest F. Hollings and Ronald Wilson Reagan (posthumous).

Mr. Pendarvis is a 1965 graduate of The Citadel and remains active with his alma mater by serving as a member of The Citadel School of Business Administration Advisory Board. After serving in the U.S. Army Artillery, Ed has experienced decades of success in the sales and business environment. Prior to founding Sunbelt in 1978, he had a successful career in real estate sales and development. Throughout his career with Sunbelt, Ed has participated in or managed the sale of more than 1,000 businesses, as well as providing training to countless business brokers. Mr. Pendarvis currently resides in the Charleston area with his wife, Elaine.
