Focalpoint Helps Baby Boomers Facing Bankruptcy

Business coaching expert says coaching can help local residents age 55+ who are experiencing financial disarray

According to a recent study, older Americans are experiencing a rude awakening. Those who are 55 years old and older are filing for bankruptcy at a faster rate than the general population in the country. Among the reasons: growing mortgage debt and higher health care costs, the study said. "Unfortunately, the trend in bankruptcy is increasing and older Americans are suffering from a slump in their finances," said Dominic Rubino, executive vice president of FocalPoint International. "We have seen increasing research that reflects a rise in bankruptcy petitions as the baby boom generation ages. And, in an effort to help that generation get back on track, we continue to assist local business owners, self-employed professionals, and senior executives, age 55 and older, get on the path to success." A recent article from MSNBC.com explained how data from court and public records, which the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal studied, showed 39 percent of Americans older than age 45 had entered bankruptcy in 2002 which is up from 27 percent in 1994. It is a trend that is entering into the future years, Rubino said. "A large portion of our mission is to help those in the baby boom generation who are experiencing this crisis, especially those experiencing it in the local area," Rubino said, adding that many people have benefited from the FocalPoint Business Coaching's coaching program. The program is based on world renowned speaker, coach, and author Brian Tracy's key elements to business success and provides individuals with a variety of strategies and tactics already proven to be effective in business worldwide. Besides its business coaching services, FocalPoint Business Coaching is taking an even bigger step to assist the baby boom generation by encouraging them to take part in the company's Brian Tracy University. The private, distance-learning online business college offers courses based on years of practical experience, training and application, Rubino added. The university is designed to satisfy the needs of individuals who do not have the time or patience for multi-year, multi-hour courses and programs.
