On July 21, 2007 Satellite Sisters recognized Renae Olafson as "Sisters of the Week" for her contributions to families across the country. Satellite Sisters is a nationally syndicated radio talk show on the ABC Radio Network and XM Radio. According to Liz Dolan, co-host of the show "We get a lot of emails from adult kids who say caring for their parents is the hardest thing for them right now ... it might not be medical care, but transportation, grocery shopping ... There's a real need for something like that ... I can totally understand the desire to do that (live independently)... I'd like to know that Touching Hearts at Home is still out there when I need the service." Touching Hearts at Home was founded by Renae Olafson as a legacy of love to her mother, who at age 92 continues to live independently in her home with the help of her family and a Touching Hearts at Home caregiver. Touching Hearts at Home launched nationally on January 1, 2007 after Renae's ten years of experience in the Twin Cities market. Now offering services to seniors and people with disabilities in ten states, Touching Hearts at Home continues its national expansion. "I am honored and privileged to provide this service to families and communities across the country," states Renae Olafson. The Satellite Sisters radio show is syndicated nationally six days a week three hours a day by the ABC Radio Networks and can also be heard on XM Radio's Take Five Channel 155, a channel devoted entirely to smart, fun female-targeted talk. Satellite Sisters has won seven Gracie Awards for excellence from American Women in Radio and Television, more than any radio show in the last decade. In 2006, they were nominated for a Marconi Award, radio's highest honor.
