Lenny's To Open In Greenville, South Carolina

Lenny's Franchisor, LLC, franchisor of Lenny's Sub Shops, today announced that franchisees Greg Helker, Sharyl Helker Connor, and Sondra and Don Helker have signed on to open a Lenny¹s Sub Shop in Greenville, South Carolina. They are currently looking for a site that will be convenient for guests and accessible to catering opportunities. The Helkers will open their first location in early 2008.

The Helkers were some of Lenny's best customers while living in Memphis, Tennessee, where the franchise is based.

"Lenny¹s gave us a completely different experience compared to the service we had grown to expect in the average sub shop," said Greg Helker. "We were blown away by the quality and quantity of the food, and most importantly by the way we were treated by Lenny¹s employees." After moving to Greenville several years ago, the Helkers found that the Lenny's locations in neighboring cities like Charlotte, Asheville and Atlanta were too far away to satisfy their craving for Lenny's subs and salads. They determined that Greenville would be a perfect fit for everything Lenny's has to offer.

"All of our owners are family and will be working in front and behind the scenes of Lenny's, which we feel is very important to the overall success of any business venture," said Helker. "We plan on working hard while also having a lot of fun creating an atmosphere in which our guests want to return to frequently for their Lenny's fix." The Helker family has a wide variety of backgrounds, including sales, marketing, finance, insurance and real estate. Greg will be in charge of operations.

Len and Sheila Moore opened the original Lenny's Sub Shop, a genuine Philadelphia-style sub shop with fresh baked bread and the finest quality deli meat and cheese, in a Memphis suburb in 1998. Lenny's Franchisor Chief Executive Officer George Alvord and private investors acquired ownership of the company from Len Moore in 2004. Lenny's has sold franchises in 20 states from California to Virginia.

Recently, Lenny's has opened several restaurants in new markets including Roseville, CA, Albuquerque, NM and Avon, IN. In addition, they have sold multi-restaurant packages in several states, including California, Indiana, Ohio, Louisiana and New Mexico. Lenny's is scheduled to open hundreds of restaurants in the next few years.
