Nursefinders Increases Presence In California And Louisiana With Acquisition Of Pre/stat Nursing Services

Monday, February 22, 1999

Rapidly expanding Texas-based health care staffing provider completes third acquisition in five months.

Nursefinders, Inc., the nation's leading provider of health care staffing, today announced the acquisition of PRE/STAT Nursing Services, Inc., significantly expanding the Texas-based company's presence in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and New Orleans. This is the third acquisition by Nursefinders in five months and will add an estimated $15.5 million in annualized revenues to the company.

"The acquisition of PRE/STAT Nursing further emphasizes our commitment to acquiring companies with outstanding reputations and whose philosophies match our own," said Rick Peranton, president and CEO of Nursefinders. "Not only will our presence and leadership increase in the California and Louisiana markets, but Nursefinders also is gaining successful long-term relationships with PRE/STAT's clientele and key staffing coordinators, all of which have been carefully cultivated by owners Kal and Imelda Brar." "Nursefinders is known throughout the medical staffing industry for its commitment to providing highly-qualified professionals and creating and maintaining successful relationships with its clientele," said Kal Brar, owner of PRE/STAT. "When the opportunity arose for PRE/STAT to join the Nursefinders team, we could not refuse. The timing was right and, more importantly, the relationship between the companies was ideal." Recognized as one of the fastest growing companies by Inc. magazine, PRE/STAT's Nursing clientele includes UCLA Medical Center, Cedars Sinai, San Francisco General Hospital and Tulane Medical Center. Kal Brar will stay on as a consultant for Nursefinders.

Since launching its acquisition campaign in 1998, Nursefinders has recently purchased MedSource of Connecticut and Louisiana-based Amedisys Staffing/Patient Care Services, as well as repurchasing several successful franchises.

"We are continuing to aggressively seek out quality medical staffing and specialty home care companies that fit our growth plan," said Neal Ostman, CFO of Nursefinders.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Nursefinders is one of the largest medical staffing and specialty home health care companies in the nation providing RNs, LPNs/LVNs, therapists, nursing assistants, home health aides and other health care professionals. The Arlington, Texas-based company has 116 company and franchise units in 38 states. Entrepreneur magazine recently ranked Nursefinders as the number one franchise in medical staffing services in its annual "Franchise 500" issue. In January 1998, Nursefinders was purchased by a group of investors headed by Atlantic Medical Capital, L.P. and CBIC Capital Partners.
