Refrigerant At Concord Naval Weapons Station Recovered By Rapid Recovery

Friday, April 25, 2008

Rapid Recovery, a refrigerant recovery company servicing the continental United States, recently completed the refrigerant abatement at Concord Naval Weapons Station.

Concord Naval Weapons Station contained 19 buildings on over 12,000 acres with a total of 67 refrigerated appliance circuits of various sizes and refrigerant types. The facility was utilized during WWII as an armament storage depot for supply ships and as recently as the Gulf War processing ammunition. The facility is under strict security with access only provided with an escort. Ameritac Inc, of Concord was contracted by the US Government to place the 19 buildings into a "deeper state of sleep". Ameritac then contacted Rapid Recovery for the refrigerant related work required at this jobsite after calling several other companies, each one referring Rapid Recovery.

The refrigerated appliances were recovered, stickered & documented by Rapid Recovery and photographed by Ameritac. Ameritac is taking this extra measure of photographing the equipment with the "Refrigerant Recovered" sticker to insure they can show evidence of the units being recovered. They will also be receiving detailed refrigerant recovery documentation from Rapid Recovery. "Rapid Recovery always provides the necessary refrigerant documentation for our customers." Said Matt Jahn of Rapid Recovery. Documentation is required and while it hasn"t been a top priority for contractors in the past, recent renewed interest in refrigerant recovery by the EPA & California's Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) has resulted in contractors seeking refrigerant recovery compliance through companies that provide this necessary documentation.

Rapid Recovery offers refrigerant recovery and abatement nationwide through its franchise network. Their customer base includes refrigeration and air conditioning contractors, refrigeration wholesale distributors, demolition contractors, DOD, landfill administrators and in-house service departments. They provide on-site refrigerant recovery solutions, including job-site refrigerant recovery, recovery cylinder service, and refrigerant disposal and documentation services.
