High School Sports The Magazine Sees Immediate Success In The Greater Reading Area

Holy Name High School varsity coach and Reading's own Steve Miller launches High School Sports The Magazine: Greater Reading.

Communities in the Greater Reading area have been introduced to a glossy new magazine devoted exclusively to high school sports as local resident and varsity head coach Steve Miller launched High School Sports The Magazine: Greater Reading franchise in December of 2007.

Miller, who graduated from City University and is working on his masters at St. Joseph's, was a two-sport star in high school and played ice hockey at the Major Junior level with the Quebec Remparts. Miller holds certifications from the Nat'l Soccer Coaches Assn., NIAAA and USSF.

I have been overwhelmed with the positive responses that I have received from the local athletes and coaches in regards to the magazine.

They are impressed with the overall quality of the publication and the coverage that all the sports get.

I see the magazine and our website offering a lot to the local sports community not only as a resource to promote the local teams and the athletes, but also a way to strengthen the entire popularity and help mold the future success of all the athletic programs in Berks County.

The local businesses see this as a great opportunity to get in front of a large audience, not just to promote their goods and services, but also as a way to show support to the local schools "I have been overwhelmed with the positive responses that I have received from the local athletes and coaches in regards to the magazine," said Miller. "They are impressed with the overall quality of the publication and the coverage that all the sports get." Each issue holds human-interest stories inspired by local student athletes, advice for parents, and electrifying coverage of area high school sporting events. The magazine is free to the community and will be distributed at high-traffic convenient stores, restaurants, and super-markets.

"I see the magazine and our website offering a lot to the local sports community not only as a resource to promote the local teams and the athletes, but also a way to strengthen the entire popularity and help mold the future success of all the athletic programs in Berks County," Miller said.

Miller is distributing 10,000 copies per issue of High School Sports The Magazine: Greater Reading at approximately 200 area locations. An online digital version is available as well. The four-color, 68-page publication is distributed to schools and athletic departments.

"The local businesses see this as a great opportunity to get in front of a large audience, not just to promote their goods and services, but also as a way to show support to the local schools," said Miller. "I am excited with the expansion our magazine is making nationally. We have publications in seven states with more coming on board all the time.

High School Sports The Magazine was founded in 2005 to celebrate the dedication and winning spirit of high school athletes. HSSTM provides unique high school sports coverage and real-life stories about student athletes in each community it serves. HSSTM began franchising its concept in September 2006 and has since grown to six different markets.
