The shop, located at 3225 Vicksburg Lane, will carry more than 100 types of wine, all costing $25 or less per bottle. It also will sell cigars, specialty foods and wine-themed cookbooks.
Vino 100 is aimed at customers who enjoy wine, but aren't necessarily sommeliers. The shop uses "Wine Barometer" tags to identify each wine's flavor on a scale of fruity to dry and its body on a scale of light to full. Wines are displayed based on the system, making it easier for customers to find wines similar to those they like.
"Vino 100 is distinctive from other wine shops because we make the wine buying experience as enjoyable as the drinking," Natalia Karebin, general manager of Vino 100 Plymouth, said in a statement. Karebin co-owns the local franchise with Phil Miller.
Bala Cynwyd, Pa.-based Vino 100, founded in 2003, has more than 60 franchises in 18 states.
