"Papa Romano's and its franchisees are active members in their communities and are proud to be celebrating 40 years of serving fresh and tasty pizza to their customers throughout Michigan," said Sam Askar, president of Papa Romano's Pizza and Askar Brands Inc. "We are looking forward to giving back to our customers and saying thank you with special in-store deals and offers throughout our anniversary month, including our golden ticket contest where we are excited to be awarding 45 of our patrons with free pizza and Pepsi for an entire year." On April 1, 1970, Michigan-based pizza chain Papa Romano's was born when it opened its first pizza shop at Nine Mile and Telegraph in Southfield. Today, Papa Romano is celebrating its 40th anniversary serving quality food to its customers and operating 45 franchised and company-owned stores in Michigan and Colorado.
