Wednesday, May 26, 2010

In celebration of Memorial Day, Paciugo Gelato & Caff, a family owned and operated company specializing in authentic Italian gelato, will offer its customers a complimentary upgrade scoop of gelato from its recently introduced line of culinary-inspired flavors throughout the holiday weekend. "We feel that it is important to recognize our U.S. military veterans and couldn't think of a better way to celebrate the holiday than with a free scoop of delicious handmade, authentic Italian gelato for all our customers," said Cristiana Ginatta, co-founder of Paciugo Gelato & Caff. "We are thankful for our U.S. military veterans and those still active in service this Memorial Day weekend." Beginning May 29 and lasting through May 31, 2010, customers visiting any of the 40 Paciugo Gelato & Caff locations can select a free upgrade scoop of any of the four unique flavor combinations which include: v Chocolate Chipotle Butter Pecan offers a deliciously, smooth and intense flavor that is smoky, creamy and crunchy, buttery and spicy.

v Roasted Banana Cashew Heath Crunch ripe bananas are roasted with brown sugar to create a silky smooth texture and intense flavor as it blends with gelato to create the right degree of extravagant sweetness.

v Durian with a beautiful, golden yellow color and an equally unique smell, it's no wonder toasted coconut was chosen as a complement to Durian Gelato. The crunchiness of the toasted coconut and the sweet aroma contrast pleasantly with the silky texture.

v Organic Maple Caramelized Bacon maple syrup creates a heightened natural contrast of sweet and salty, smooth and crunchy when paired with caramelized bacon.

Paciugo Gelato & Caff freshly handcrafts more than 30 flavors each morning in small batches, using wholesome ingredients such as whole pasteurized milk, cane sugar, hand-squeezed fruit juices and seasonal fruit from local farmers, chocolate from Belgium and Italian hazelnuts, pistachios and candied amarene cherries.

In addition to gelato, the menu features all-natural, fair trade, 100% Arabica coffees and espresso-based drinks, as well as Gelato-based specialty drinks and desserts, and premium hot chocolate.
