The new owners of the franchise location are Mark & Kristi Samber. The Samber's fell in love with the OIL & VINEGAR concept when visiting the shop located in Charlottesville, VA and immediately decided it was time to turn their passion into their business. After living in the Charleston area prior, they knew this was the perfect spot to open their first shop.
The culinary gift shop concept of OIL & VINEGAR brings together a wide range of international food and cooking products, all designed to please the senses and are presented in alluring, Mediterranean-style surroundings.
Imagine an exclusive assortment of imported gourmet items with a sharp focus on premium, small estate oils & vinegars available "on-tap" and complimented with a wide range of beautifully-packaged open and eat appetizers, condiments, dried herb blends, pasta, dressings & marinades and of course packaged oils & vinegars of various varieties. Plus, all of these gourmet treasures complemented by a fine selection of hand-made European ceramics, cruets, kitchen accessories, salt & pepper mills, international cookbooks and other unique culinary accessories.
At OIL & VINEGAR, customers are referred to as "guests", and the guests are treated to three key aspects during their visit that are the basis of the OIL & VINEGAR retail philosophy: Experience, Service, and Taste. Guests are encouraged to sample products at their leisure and receive advice on product use, recipe ideas and recommendations for that one-of-a-kind gift that is tastefully gift wrapped at no extra charge.
The focal point of the store is the "amphora wall," where an international selection of over 40 estate-produced oils & vinegars are suspended in glass containers (amphoras) on a dramatic backlit wall. Customers can sample the varieties, select from over 15 different shaped & sized bottles to have filled, or bring bottles in from a previous purchase to have refilled with an "on-tap" product of choice.

Today in the US market, there are OIL & VINEGAR stores in Washington, Texas, Virginia, Montana, and South Carolina.
