Canada's Top Private Sale Franchise Propertyguys.com Inks A Deal To Give Its Customers Mls Access

Sunday, October 24, 2010

PropertyGuys.com announced that it has come to an Agreement with a licensed real estate brokerage to offer MLS services alongside its suite of technology and marketing tools geared towards the Private Sale market.

Advertisement "This is a true game changer for our customers", says Ken LeBlanc President and CEO of PropertyGuys.com. "This new approach provides the public with the best way to sell real estate; widest exposure to buyers at significantly lower costs, while maintaining control of the entire process." "And just to clarify any possible misunderstanding, we are not putting anyone on the MLS as that's a member privilege - instead we'll be promoting the availability of Flat Fee Programs on behalf of the Flat Fee Brokers that are positioned to offer it," reinforces LeBlanc.

This announcement comes just days before a major vote between the Canadian Real Estate Association and its members regarding a proposed settlement with The Canadian Competition Bureau. Industry observers may see this as a gutsy move given that members still need to vote on October 24, 2010.

The outcome of this vote may be a case where the school yard bullies actually loose. "We basically got blocked every time we ventured towards any solution that involved working with agents", he added. "We shared lots of correspondence and wrote several complaints over the years to the competition watchdog hoping that anti-competitive behaviour which had become almost common place within the industry could someday be broken". With everything happening, it looks like that day may have come.

Nonetheless, PropertyGuys.com is prepared to move forward with the necessary framework to offer flat fee MLS to its customers via strategic partnerships regardless of the outcome of the vote. They say that their framework is lawful and will be rolled out across the country soon enough. "We are excited to take part in the evolution of the real estate market." LeBlanc also predicts that the market share for traditional brokerages will dwindle in favour of services like PropertyGuys.com over the next few years as more sellers migrate towards a more economical and balanced solution. "We see the market moving towards what we've been preaching; Consumer Empowerment, Transparency and Economics - it just took the market a while to catch up to us", says LeBlanc.

With more than 100 franchises across Canada, PropertyGuys.com have been providing Canadian home owners with all the tools they need to sell their home without using agents since 1998. The method of selling that PropertyGuys.com is best known for doesn't involve commission - that's probably why traditional brokerages don't like them. PropertyGuys.com franchise owners (who are not licensed agents) interact with sellers directly by leveraging the Propertyguys.com web platform to provide them with the necessary marketing tools and know-how to make their selling experience a successful one. "That part of the puzzle is not changing, having skilled people on the ground to help you understand what to do every step of the way is still our mission. "This deal just gives everyday folks the best of both worlds - a definite win for some sellers who could see their fees reduced drastically as a result of this deal."
