U-Swirl had a grand opening celebration on Saturday with prizes and discounts on yogurt.
When many other businesses are closing up shop, U-Swirl is expanding.
"We're doing really good, economic-wise," said U-Swirl operations manager, Gina Geraci.
Geraci says it's U-Swirl's concept that keeps people coming back for more.
"You get to make this however you want," said Geraci.
Customers can pick from 20 flavors of frozen yogurt and more than 60 toppings, all of which they add themselves.
Geraci says it costs 36 cents an ounce, and, on average, most people spend about $3 or $4.
Customers like Jana Atkinson say they bring their kids in for a treat.
"It's just good for you, and low-fat. It's a healthy snack," said Atkinson. "The kids love that, because they can get what flavors they want, and everybody is happy." The new location is at 5115 Mae Anne Avenue in North Reno, by the WalMart.
