Franchise Gives Murfreesboro Woman Chance To 'relax'

After all Andrea Gibson has seen and done, it was about time for her to relax.

Gibson, who now owns a franchise of Elements Therapeutic Massage, entered the Army to pay off her student loans. As a part of the military's aviation sector, she flew an Apache helicopter.

From the service she continued her education and then worked for the Department of Labor for 11 years.

"I always had an interest in massage. I had a passion for the benefits it provided in my life," Gibson said.

She fell in love with the Elements franchise when she met the founder at an event in Denver last year.

"It spoke to me. I felt is was a good match for me," Gibson said. "I loved the vision the company had." Located at 533 N. Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro, the business focuses on therapeutic and deep tissue massage as well as injury-related and chronic health conditions.

"We don't sell retail items. Our target is to give a great massage. It was important to me that we didn't lose that vision," Gibson said.

The facility has eight rooms and 10 staff members who can service individuals with sports injuries, physical therapy needs, pre- and post-natal treatments, trigger point and deep tissue. They also offer Swedish and energy massages, hot rocks, lymphatic draining and more.

"Massage is holistic in the sense that it can alleviate pain in some people," Gibson said.

First-time customers can enjoy an introductory rate of $49 for a 55-minute massage. You can also get an 80-minute session for $99 or 110 minutes for $119.

While Gibson's business does focus energies on healing and pain alleviation, anyone can purchase a relaxation service.
