Pizza Pizza Brings Back Smile Foundation Fundraiser

Toronto-based Pizza Pizza is bringing back its Slices for Smiles Foundation fundraiser April 23 to April 29. This year's goal is to cross the $1 million mark for donations.

Founded in October 2007 to coincide with Pizza Pizza's 40th anniversary, the Slices for Smiles Foundation has so far raised more than $840,000 for children's charities across Canada.

Made up of eight slices of pepperoni, the 10-inch half pizza will be available for $2. Customers can also support the cause by purchasing a medium pepperoni pizza for the discounted price of $4.99.

Customers can donate to the cause through the Pizza Pizza iPhone app, online orders at PizzaPizza.ca, in-store or via its call centre.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these menu items will go to the company's Slices for Smiles Foundation, which will donate funds raised to Children's Miracle Network and its member hospitals across Canada.

"Customers continue to blow us away with their support of the Slices for Smiles Foundation," said Pat Finelli, chief marketing officer for Pizza Pizza. "Last year was a record-breaking year for the foundation and this year will continue on that path. We're confident that, together with our customers, we'll break our million-dollar goal in total funds raised for children's charities." Last year, Pizza Pizza raised $250,000 - the most the company has ever raised during the fundraiser.
