Wendy's Introduces Mobile Nutrition App

Fast food chain Wendy's has released an app that enables customers to personalize their meals based on calorie intake. Patrons can select a calorie range that fits their dietary needs and choose from options that fit their parameters, or they can build their own meal from various menu items until they achieve the desired calorie intake.

The app features nutritional information for each menu item, a favorites section where customers can store their personalized menu selections, and a Geo-location to point customers towards nearby Wendy's locations. Wendy's hopes to release new editions of the app in the future that will include digital-couponing and mobile payment.

Wendy's worked with Resource Interactive to develop the app, as well as a team of registered dietitians, to help create accurate calorie descriptions for each ingredient.
