Each year the Franchisee of the Year Award is given to a franchisee who has demonstrated his or her belief in the franchising concept, who has promoted, supported and encouraged franchising, and who supports the franchise network. The 2012 Sir Speedy Franchisee of the Year Award was presented to Reuven and Susy Kanner of Miami Lakes, FL, and the 2012 PIP Franchisee of the Year Award was presented to Jimmy and Judy Brumley of Burlington, NC. This is the second time the Brumley's have received this award and the first time in history that a PIP franchisee has received the award twice.
Top Volume Awards went to George Coriaty of Sir Speedy, Whittier, CA, The Fulner Family of PIP in Indianapolis, IN and Nashville, TN, and Riley and Kay Gunnels of Signal Graphics in Atlantic City, NJ. The International Top Volume Award went to Fred Torres of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In addition, a Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Art and Dannie Weber of Winston-Salem, NC in recognition of their 40 years with the Sir Speedy network.
Awards were also given to franchisees and salespeople in the following categories: Top 10, Top 25, Volume Increase Percentage, Century Club, Million Dollar Club, Sales Achievement Awards, Application Innovation Awards, and Quick Printing magazine's Top 100 Award given to seven Sir Speedy locations, five PIP's and one Signal Graphics.
"All of our award recipients represent leaders in our franchise network, the printing and marketing services industry and in their communities where they continue to help their business customers grow," said Richard Lowe, COO of Franchise Services. "Their sales achievements are extraordinary accomplishments and I am proud of the efforts they have set forth to achieve both professional and personal success." Other highlights of the Convention included a keynote presentation by Lawrence Kimmel, Executive Director, Hawkeye, and President Emeritus, Direct Marketing Association (DMA), and a vendor tradeshow where leading companies in the printing, graphics arts and marketing services industries exhibited in more than 100 booths at the Baltimore Convention Center. Ricoh served as Signature Sponsor of the 2012 event.
