Three Dog Bakery Unleashes Growth Plans

Kansas City-based Three Dog Bakery, which makes oven-baked foods and treats for pets, has doubled the size of its flagship store.

The store, at 602 W. 48th St. on the Country Club Plaza, moved just down the street into the 1,300-square-foot former Chico's location.

The new space has a training facility where the executive chef can groom other chefs, teaching them how to make the store's dog birthday cakes, "pupcakes" and banana mutt bread. Those treats can be sampled by customers and their dogs.

Three Dog Bakery also relaunched its website, which was redesigned by Overland Park-based DEG.

The company, founded in 1989, has more than 30 locations in North America and Japan.
