New franchisees will be offered a 23-day training system as part of their business induction training that can be completed online or doubled with in-house one-on-one training.
Ongoing courses are also available for owners and team members.
Swimart Australasian manager, Chris Fitzmaurice said by offering ongoing professional development for its franchisees, customers will be able to receive the best possible advice.
"Owning a pool or spa entails a level of knowledge that takes time to learn," said Fitzmaurice.
"The better educated our franchisees are, the better they can serve their customers and anticipate their needs." he added.
The eLearning component of Swimart's Academy courses is comprised of four levels: 1. Basic courses: covers the different types of pools, spas, materials and construction, and is suitable for those who are new to the industry or want to refresh their knowledge.
Franchisees can learn about water chemistry, water balancing, water testing, basic calculations and chemical dosing in the water chemistry basics component also offered.
2. Professional courses: franchisees, pool technicians and senior team members looking to expand their knowledge and skills can take on the Certified Technician Qualification that introduces modules such as contamination, water problems and disinfection, water chemistry, water circulation and filtration and maintenance issues.
Those wanting to take a further step in their education can sign up for the Master Technician Qualification that imparts expert knowledge on how to prevent serious water borne illnesses such as gastrointestinal disorders, skin, ear, eye and respiratory illnesses and wounds.
3. Industry related courses: these courses are designed by Waterco, Swimart's franchisor and includes subjects such as water balance and chemical treatment.
4. Product related courses: provides in-depth training on specific products. "We believe this enhanced training system is a substantial benefit for all Swimart franchisees and potential franchisees, as it sets industry standards and encourages product knowledge excellence allowing franchisees to offer the best possible service to their customers," added Fitzmaurice.
