Lavida Massage Opens First Houston-area Wellness Center

LaVida Massage, a unique international franchising corporation specializing in health and wellness through therapeutic massage services for the family, has opened its first center in the Houston market, giving local residents flexible options for massage therapy.

LaVida Message of Cypress recently opened at 12361 Barker Cypress Road, Suite 700 in Cypress, a 2,700-square-foot facility that features eight regular massage rooms, one room dedicated to couples- massage and one room hosting skin-care services. The center offers customized therapies for men and women that include Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, prenatal, sports therapy and more. LaVida Massage recently added signature facials and plans to add spray tans to its list of services.

Repeat customers who join the month-to-month benefits plan get one hour of treatment per month at a discounted rate, with no enrollment fee or long-term commitment. That hour can be used for a massage or facial, and additional services in the month are discounted even further for members. Two family members can share the benefit with no additional fees "" making it easier and more affordable to take advantage of the plan. The benefit rolls over from month to month, in case a member isn't able to make time for a therapy in a month. Members also get rewards points for referrals and for every dollar spent at LaVida.

Sessions are scheduled 75 minutes apart so that the therapist and client aren't rushed between appointments.

Owners Jeff, an energy-industry veteran, and Tracey Gerl, a real-estate agent, wanted to open a business that provides a beneficial service to the community.

"As a long-time consumer of therapeutic massage, and after recognizing how well it has served me, I decided I wanted to venture into this market as I make my transition to entrepreneurship," Jeff says. "I've watched the industry grow within the past five years, and I believe it will continue to grow from both a consumer perspective and as a business opportunity."
