The hirebridge.com link was first posted on Jackson Jambalaya.
A spokesman for the company told The Clarion-Ledger Tuesday the burger chain had no plans to enter the Jackson market. Brian Farley did not immediately respond to a message left at his office Wednesday morning.
Where the restaurant planned to locate and a timetable for opening were unclear Wednesday. The job announcement did not list either, and Madison Mayor Mary Hawkins-Butler did not respond to a message left on her cell phone. The existing restaurant that would most directly compete with Red Robin would be Five Guys Burgers and Fries at Ridgeland's Renaissance at Colony Park. Five Guys opened in 2012 and specializes in gourmet hamburgers.
Red Robin is known its for large portions, something one Jackson restaurant owner took issue with on social media.
"Just what the fattest state in America needs," Jeff Good, who owns Bravo!, Broad Street Bakery and Sal & Mookie's New York Pizza and Ice Cream Joint, said on his twitter feed. "Bottomless French fries and bottomless soft drinks." Red Robin started in 1969 in Seattle, and has grown to 470 stores across Canada and the U.S. that employ 34,000 people, according to company figures. There is no location in Mississippi or Louisiana. Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia and Tennessee each have several stores.
For the fiscal year ending Dec. 30, 2012, total company revenues, which include company-owned restaurant revenues and franchise royalties, increased 6.8 percent to $977.1 million. Diluted earnings per share were $1.93 vs. $1.34 in fiscal 2011. The company went public in 2002.
