Hampton Hotels Regains Leadership Of The Franchise 500 For 2015

Saturday, January 03, 2015

First hotel brand to hold the top spot, Hampton fosters loyalty, passion among owners.

No, the Franchise 500 isn't a NASCAR race you've been missing out on. Although it wouldn't be a bad idea to add it to the yearly roster, to generate even more excitement to the circuit. It's a list of the top performing and best franchise opportunities to keep an eye on. The list changes every year and is compiled by Entrepreneur.com. The list is a good tool to help prospective franchisees simply get an idea of all the options available.

The Franchise 500 Ranking The Franchise 500 ranking is not necessarily the ones that have the highest or lowest start up costs or the ones that make a franchisee the most money. The list is primarily the movers and shakers who are aggressively moving up the scale and many are today's most popular franchises. It is listed in a ranking as the top one in its particular category. Here is some of the information that is used to assess the ranking of the Franchise 500 list: Length of time the franchise has been operating Financial solidity Growth rate Terminations Length of time since the business began Initial costs for start up Rate of litigation If the company provides financing Other verifiable factors are considered in compiling the Franchise 500 list. Only those who have a minimum of 10 franchises are eligible. In order to be considered, the franchise must provide full information on their Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDD's) and they must be pursuing new franchise openings in the United States (unless they are solely Canadian franchises).

Entrepreneur Franchise 500 List of Semi-Qualified Opportunities The Franchise 500 list is good reading for anyone considering a franchise opportunity, but just because they are on the list doesn't mean they are the best franchise for you. Much of the information that is considered in compiling the list is also data that affects a franchisee, but it doesn't guarantee success. So, just because two of the top 10 new franchises for 2012 are frozen yogurt franchises doesn't mean you should run out and buy a yogurt franchise.

However, if a company is moving up financially, opening other franchises at a good rate and shows a low rate of litigation, one would assume they must be doing something right. If the franchisor is performing well, then the individual franchise owners should be doing well as long as the franchisor's revenue stream is coming from royalty fees. However, if the franchisor is succeeding because they are simply selling a lot of franchises, then you need to investigate further.

One of the nice things about the Franchise 500 ranking is the number of categories listed. Anyone looking for a franchise opportunity should be able to find a fit for their talents, skills and personality among those on the list. However, you still need to proceed with caution. Just because a franchise made the list doesn't mean it is a fool-proof business opportunity for you. You still need to do your homework! Franchise 500 is a registered trade mark of Entrepreneur.com.

Hampton Hotels (www.hampton.com), part of the Hilton Worldwide portfolio of brands, announced that it is number one in Entrepreneur Magazine's annual Franchise 500. Hampton is the first hotel brand ever to achieve the prestigious top ranking in Entrepreneur, known as the world's "first, best and most comprehensive franchise ranking." "This is an unprecedented achievement for any hotel brand and I couldn't be more proud of our franchise partners," said Phil Cordell, global head, Focused Service Brands and Hampton Hotels, Hilton Worldwide. "The fact that we've held the number one ranking for two years in a row is an endorsement of the commitment and trust our franchisees have in the Hampton brand. Paul Brown, president, Brands and Commercial Services, Hilton Worldwide, said "receiving recognition from a credited and impartial source such as Entrepreneur is a coveted endorsement for any brand. Hampton hotels and its visionary franchise partners will continue to play a key role in Hilton Worldwide's mission to be the preeminent global hospitality company - the first choice of guests, team members, and owners alike." "Franchises are a great avenue to business ownership for those with the entrepreneurial spirit-and they're playing a definitive role in driving the economy upward," says Amy Cosper, VP and editor in chief of Entrepreneur. "Unit numbers from the Franchise 500 grew overall in 2010 and 2011, giving individuals a great place to begin investigating some of the brightest opportunities like Hampton." How does a brand like Hampton hotel get to number one? "We are unwavering in our commitment to support our franchisees, and we provide ample opportunities for interaction along with helpful tools and resources," said Gina Valenti, vice president, Owner Services and Hampton Brand Culture & Internal Communications. "Our ultimate goal is to develop relationships with our franchisees and management partners that foster loyalty and a passion for the brand. I am proud that our owners are so highly engaged and committed to the global success of the brand, and I think this Entrepreneur ranking is a testament to that fact." Bo Aughtry, of Windsor, Aughtry Company and owner of several Hampton hotels and a member of the brand's Franchise Advisory Council, is an example of the visionary guidance Hampton enjoys. "I value my relationships with Hampton and Hilton Worldwide leaders," he said. "They demonstrate a consistent focus on keeping the brand change-ready and future-focused, providing support and working to foster the strength and growth of the brand. It's a great franchise to be a part of and well-deserving of its many awards." The Hampton brand continues to grow with the brand opening its first hotel in India December 2011. Hotel openings in the USA, Europe, Asia, and Latin America in 2012 and beyond can also be attributed to the strong Hilton Worldwide global development teams who partner with the brand, investors and management companies to set them up for business success with Hampton hotels http://www.hiltonworldwide.com/portfolio/hampton/.
