TheHomeMag Spurs Home Improvement Business Sector Growth in Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia

Thursday, May 01, 2014

TheHomeMag is a high-quality, high-gloss, national brand magazine with attendant multi-market web services that is delivered to the doors of the top 20% of homes and homeowners in 35 markets nationwide. It offers high-end homeowners easy access to quality home improvement services and offers visual inspiration for new home improvement projects.

"With the coming of spring, after a long hard winter in the Maryland, DC, and Virginia areas, the additional reach of TheHomeMag will inspire new recipients to maintain and improve their homes," noted Chris Goebel, president and director of sales at TheHomeMag. "Our advertisers, who represent 200 categories of home improvement product and service providers, will benefit from the "top of mind" effect and garner new business with the expanded area reach from 120,000 in 2011 to 360,000 in 2014, thereby spurring growth across the entire small business sector." TheHomeMag's successful "editorial free" format sets it apart from other magazines directed at the home improvement sector. The magazine is limited to home improvement advertisers; it is not a "casual read". There is no reason for high net-worth homeowners to view the magazine other than to identify and be inspired to start new projects or to search for product or service providers. This translates into motivated buyers of home improvement advertiser services, which spurs additional industry growth.

The Montgomery County, Maryland and DC area magazine was originally launched in 2011 with a 120,000 distribution. TheHomeMag expanded in 2012 to northern Virginia to include parts of Fairfax and Louden counties reshaping and expanding distribution to 200,000. In 2013, at the overwhelming request of advertisers to expand further, new zip codes and an additional 40,000 homes in Louden County and Howard County, Virginia were added, making the distribution at that time 100,000 homes on each side of the Potomac River. With the reorganization of the magazine in April 2014, making distribution in Maryland and northern Virginia 120,000 each, plus the addition of a new magazine reaching 120,000 homes in the Richmond area, the total distribution in the area has been expanded to 360,000.
