Five Guys to fire up grill by end of April in Wilkes-Barre Township

Prepare your taste buds Northeastern Pennsylvania, Five Guys Burgers and Fries is slated to open the last week of April.

Franchise owner, Ann Negvesky confirmed Monday despite winter construction delays, the Virginia-based burger joint, to-be-located off Mundy Street, behind the Wyoming Valley Mall, will be dishing out its handcrafted burgers and freshly made fries by the end of April.

Negvesky and her husband, Jerry, own six Five Guys Burgers and Fries franchises, including the Dickson City location and several in the Lehigh Valley.

Negvesky said the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area hold a special place for the couple, noting her husband is from the Scranton area and they both graduated from Scranton University.

Five Guys Burgers and Fries is a worldwide chain with 1,256 locations in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. There are 54 locations in Pennsylvania.
