World of Beer Opens First Tavern in Manhattan

Tuesday, September 01, 2015

World of Beer, a craft tavern featuring the best local craft beers, is thrilled to announce the opening of its newest location, and first in New York City, in Chelsea. This marks the rapidly growing franchise's fourth tavern in the state of New York. This year, World of Beer has opened 14 taverns and is projecting 12 more taverns by the end of the year.

World of Beer Chelsea, located at 316 8 Ave, boasts more than 5,000 sq. ft. of space with a 1,200 sq. ft. indoor patio, and will feature the company's signature tavern fare menu, along with 500 bottles and 50 rotating taps with exclusive taps from local breweries. Eight certified cicerones are on staff to help each customer select a perfect drink.

Since opening the doors to its first location in Tampa, Fla., in 2007, World of Beer has grown to 71 locations in 19 states across the U.S. and the company has signed more than 16 franchise agreements in 2015.

"World of Beer has experienced rapid growth over recent years, which is a true testament to our unique concept and enthusiasm for the craft beer industry," said World of Beer CEO and President Paul Avery, "We are proud to offer unparalleled experiences for every guest that visits our taverns and look forward to expanding the World of Beer brand to new markets nationwide and overseas." Lead by veterans of the restaurant industry, World of Beer's leadership team drives the brand's success. The company's executives bring a diversity of knowledge and experience in past roles with brands such as Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's Italian Grill and P.F. Chang's China Bistro. With Avery spearheading the brand's future growth, World of Beer plans to have more than 100 locations opened across the country within the next year.

According to the Brewers Association, craft beer is a $19.6 billion market. Always wanting to stay ahead of the trend and popularity of craft beer and its culture, World of Beer introduced its Tavern Fare menu in 2013, featuring appetizers, flatbreads, sandwiches and main plates. Many recipes highlight beer as a key ingredient and dishes are carefully paired with the perfect beer style to provide each customer with the full craft experience. Since the introduction of food to its menu, World of Beer has seen a significant increase in same unit sales.

With additional territories available for growth and expansion, the company is looking for franchisee candidates who have a passion for good beer and are committed to enhancing the World of Beer brand integrity. Franchisee candidates should ideally have business ownership and employee management experience, with experience in the food and beverage industry a plus.
