The OutCare Golf Classic is the primary fundraising event for the OutCare Foundation which raises money to support community-based healthcare across Eastern Ontario, and palliative care in particular.
This year's tournament had a decidedly east end flavour with a number of local businesses coming out in support of the event including Dust Evans Grandmaitre Lawyers/Avocates and Heritage Funeral Home which stepped up to the tee box as this year's title sponsors.
J.T. Bradley's Country Convenience Store in Navan was the presenting sponsor; 1-800-GOT-JUNK was the putting green sponsor; and CIBC Wood Gundy was the Welcome sponsor.
The money raised will be used to help equip and furnish the new palliative care hospice at the Residence Saint-Louis in Convent Glen.
The hospice will initially provide day program services for francophones receiving palliative at home, but there is hope it could grow into a full-service hospice similar to the May Court Hospice in Old Ottawa South.
