AdvantaClean's newest Veteran franchisee opens in Fredericksburg region

Dan Derbes, a veteran who retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years, has opened an AdvantaClean franchise in the Fredericksburg region.

A resident of Alexandria, Derbes opened the franchise at the end of October. The business offers light environmental services, including mold remediation, air duct and dryer vent cleaning, emergency water removal and coil cleaning services.

Derbes said one reason he chose the franchise is its veteran-friendly policies, including a veteran franchise owner discount.

"I want to hire as many veterans as I can," he said. "And in the bigger picture, I think my service has helped me become a better leader and manager."
