Crye-Leike Expands Its Franchise Footprint

Hank Hogue Leads as Director of Franchise Sales

Memphis-based Crye-Leike, the nation's sixth largest residential real estate brokerage firm and the largest serving Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and the Mid-South, has taken steps to grow its franchise footprint with the expansion of its franchise sales team.

Hank Hogue has been named director of franchise sales for Crye-Leike, Realtors. He previously served as principal & managing broker of Crye-Leike's Cordova branch office in Memphis, Tenn. for 28 years while also working in its franchise division for the past seven years. Hogue will continue to sell residential real estate to buyers and sellers in and around Shelby County, Tenn.

In his new role, the Collierville resident will cultivate and develop new franchise relationships in and around Crye-Leike's current nine-state market region in Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Georgia, Kentucky, Florida Oklahoma, Alabama and Missouri.

Crye-Leike has 29 franchise offices nationwide, with regional offices in Brentwood and Cordova, Tenn., along with 84 corporately-owned branch offices.

"Hank Hogue has the depth of experience with the company that we need to grow our franchise operations," said Harold Crye, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Crye-Leike.

"He established our Cordova branch office in 1988 and has served as one of our longest tenured managing brokers in the company. Hank understands what it takes to run a real estate office and will be able to provide valuable guidance to our new franchisees that join our network," said Crye.

Crye-Leike is the only real estate firm Hogue has worked for, beginning his real estate career in December 1984. He became principal and managing broker of the Cordova branch office in May 1988.

"I started with Crye-Leike as an agent after being in retail management since college," said Hogue. During my initial interview with Harold Crye, he asked me if I wanted to go into management. I told him, heck no; I just wanted to do my own thing. Well, you see how that worked out."

"Additionally, the longstanding tenure of the sales associates in Hogue's branch office who have been associated with Crye-Leike for over 25 years is a testament to Hogue's character and value as a managing broker and his working relationship with his agents," added Sullivan.

Establishing and implementing marketing and purchasing systems for his office's agents is one gift he feels he has left behind for his agents to help them succeed.

"Years ago, I implemented a marketing system and a purchasing system for my agents," said Hogue. "Most of my agents still use these systems to differentiate themselves in a highly competitive business. I am a believer in using statistics to show buyers and sellers the market trends. I provided tools for my agents to use numbers in a very powerful way."

His real estate sales achievements include attaining life member status in the Memphis Area Association of REALTORSÂ' Million Dollar Sales Club in 1990 and being inducted into Crye-Leike's Circle of Excellence in 1990 and its Multi-Million Dollar Sales Club in 1992.

Hogue's leadership involvement in the REALTORÂ community includes serving as president of the Education Foundation of the Memphis Area Association of REALTORSÂ (MAAR), president of the Certified Residential Specialists (CRS) chapter of MAAR, as well as chairman of the Education and Multiple Listing Service committees. His volunteer contributions to the association were recognized as the recipient of MAAR's Presidential Award in 1991. Most recently, he served as a member of MAAR's board of directors in 2013-14.

Outside of the real estate community, he is an active member of the Greentree's Civic Association, currently serving as president for the past four years, and the Cordova Civitan Club, serving as first president in 2009. He has been an active member of Christ United Methodist Church since 1977.

When asked what Hank's proudest moment in his real estate career was with Crye-Leike, he replied that it had to be his son. Hugh Hogue III, "€œTrey" decided to follow in his father’s footsteps, which placed them among an elite group of father and son real estate duos within Crye-Leike.

"Trey started in the real estate business as a rookie and I have seen my son progress to become a sales producer and recognized for his performance as a recipient of Crye-Leike's Circle of Excellence Award in 2016. He also became a partner with Mark Hodge in opening a franchise office in Oxford, Miss., Crye*Leike Oxford Real Estate," said Hogue. "It was because of my son obtaining a franchise with Crye-Leike that sparked my interest in our franchising division for where I am today."

"I look forward to this new position with Crye-Leike, and don't plan on changing positions again," said Hogue. "I got to keep up my reputation of staying in one position for a long time."
