The Team from the Driving School Will Research Driver Testing Techniques During Their Trip To United Kingdom

The Driver Training Group, parent company of 911 Driving School & SWERVE Driving School, today announced a 1 week research trip to the United Kingdom to research international safe-driving and examination practices. "We are thrilled to be given this opportunity," Joe Giammona, CEO of The Driver Training Group said. "The safety of our students is of the utmost importance and we're excited to enhance our current standards by offering new and unseen techniques that aren't utilized in the U.S." The United Kingdom's driving test and student driver training have been reconized internationally as being among the top global training standards in safe-driving practice and one of the most thorough examinations for licensing. "It's imperative that we stay ahead of the curve when it comes to safe-driving techniques," Giammona also said. "The UK has superior driving statistics and our main goal for the trip is to bring these systems back to the U.S. to develop programs that increase overall traffic safety in Washington State and beyond." Comparing Washington State to the UK, the current driving test in Washington has neither the range of situations, nor the testing for safe driving skills in the situations tested for. The UK test has a greater diversity of situations that the students are exposed to. The extra duration of the test allows for testing that the student is consistent and predictable in their recognition and approach to a broad range of hazards and situations. The testing requirements in the UK assess the driver on many levels including:

  • Greater awareness of situations
  • Recognition and approach to hazards both on and off the road
  • Testing under real-world situations and conditions

"We're looking to not only bring back new methods that aren't currently taught in the U.S," added Giammona, "but to also gaining a deeper understanding of the differences in licensing standards." 911 and SWERVE Driving School franchise concepts were created to inspire, educate, engage and motivate drivers to perform safely and responsibly behind the wheel achived through online, classroom, and behind-the-wheel instruction. The Driver Training Group has developed many programs for teen, adult, government and corporate fleet drivers that go beyond traditional driving lessons or driver's education courses.  As 911 and SWERVE Driving Schools expand, the brands are awarding franchise opportunities to qualified individuals who share the visions of both companies, who will follow the proven business models and who are driven to succeed. They are tailored to owners and operators that place value in the states' safe driving methods. The franchise model provides both structure and scalability. Many of the current franchisees were police officers or corporate world professionals seeking a secondary or post-retirement income. The 911 & SWERVE Driving Schools' business models, complete with thorough training, site selection support and marketing programs, have been cultivated to attract individuals or teams with an ambition to succeed, strong values and solid community connections.
