Accompaniment services to seniors and those with disabilities

The idea of beginning a new endeavour can be daunting and pursuing it alone can be tougher than one would expect. The pressure of planning, operating and navigating a business from its idea stage through its launch is the most critical process that any business owner will face. That is why the idea of becoming a franchisee is appealing as it generally reduces risk because so much of the work has been done for you.

Bev Halisky, the founder and president of the Corporation, worked in various medical offices and hospitals for 30+ years and had a first-hand look at the void there was in the marketplace for seniors assistance and accompaniment and made a decision to change that void.

Driving Miss Daisy, an Alberta based franchise operation, provides quality assistance, accompaniment services to seniors and those with disabilities. Driving Miss Daisy was established January 1, 2002. As of September 2012 Driving Miss Daisy has 60 operational franchises and 45 Franchise owners and several pending sales in the works. To date, Franchises are operational throughout Alberta, BC, Ontario, Saskatchewan and we are currently adding Manitoba as our 5th Canadian province. Franchise opportunities are available throughout Canada.

Do you want to be independent, own your own business and control your earning potential? To be awarded a Driving Miss Daisy franchise you must possess a dedication to succeed, a determination for independence and the desire to help seniors and those with disabilities. We are looking for a team of owners across Canada who can share our mission and passion for serving seniors and those with disabilities.

The oldest boomers are now 60 years old and life expectancy is now 80 years. The number of seniors in Canada is currently about 3.9 million and this is projected to increase to 9.8 million by 2036. While longer life spans give people more time to enjoy their lives, this fact also presents a series of challenges, limitations and disabilities that increase with age (mobility, agility, hearing, vision and pain). Driving Miss Daisy strives to help individuals and their families overcome these challenges.

Driving Miss Daisy offers:
1. Low start-up costs
2. Home based low overhead
3. No medical or health care experience required
4. Predominantly a cash business with very few receivables
5. Exclusive territories
