Kumon Named the First-Ever "Official Learning Center" of the Rangers
The New York Rangers and Kumon North America today announced a new, multi-year marketing partnership, naming the world's largest after-school learning program the first-ever Official Learning Center of the Rangers. The agreement provides Kumon with premier brand integration at Madison Square Garden during Rangers games and designates Kumon as a partner of the Rangers youth hockey camps, which is part of the organization's "Go Skate!" platform, focusing on improving the youth hockey experience in the tri-state area by increasing opportunities and accessibility to the sport through hockey camps, clinics and free skating events.
Kumon is an after-school math and reading enrichment program that unlocks the potential of children so they can achieve more on their own. The learning method uses an individualized approach that helps children develop a solid command of math and reading skills.
"We are excited to have Kumon as the first-ever Official Learning Center of the New York Rangers supporting our youth hockey camps," said Ryan O'Hara, president of content distribution and sales, The Madison Square Garden Company. "This new partnership provides Kumon a unique opportunity to reach children of all ages and emphasize the importance of learning through sports."
"In addition to enhancing math and reading skills, Kumon helps children gain confidence and improve problem solving skills, tools essential to success inside and outside of the classroom," said Minoru Tanabe, President of Kumon North America. "We are proud to partner with the New York Rangers youth hockey camps, which shares our mission to help children succeed in life."
As part of the marketing partnership, Kumon will have two branded dasherboards at The Garden that will also be visible to Rangers fans watching at home on MSG Network. As a partner of Rangers youth hockey camps, Kumon will receive on-site branding, inclusion in the Youth Hockey Insiders Newsletter and co-branding on the back-to-school giveaway item provided to participants at youth hockey camp locations. Last season, through the Go Skate! platform, the Rangers held over 250 community events in the tri-state, giving more than 15,000 youth the opportunity to experience hockey.
