During this training the franchisee will learn all the hands on aspects of preparing each dish, how to make orders to minimize product waste, the industry secrets to operating a successful restaurant, how to utilize the Point of Sale systems and most importantly allow the franchisee to become an integral part of the Wok Box team. |
Support | Newsletter, Meetings, Toll-free phone line, Grand opening, Internet, Field operations/evaluations | Wok Box regional Operations Managers and Master Developers will be in constant contact with all franchisees to ensure that the Wok Box product is being prepared consistently across the markets. These key people will provide Franchisees advice on how to improve their operations and ultimately will aid all Wok Box Fresh Asian Kitchens to succeed. |
Marketing | Co-op advertising | Each Wok Box Franchise contributes 3% of their gross sales to an advertising fund that will be used by Wok Box to maximize the exposure of the brand and products. Wok Box's Executive team has a wealth of knowledge for franchisees on how to best advertise and market their stores and will provide each store advice on how to promote their store in their individual market. |
Operations |
Number of employees needed to run franchised unit: 25 Absentee ownership of franchise is NOT allowed. (100% of current franchisees are owner/operators) | A Franchisee who purchases a Wok Box Franchise does not have to personally operate the Wok Box restaurant. However, there must be a full time Manager who has satisfactorily completed the training course provided by Wok Box and is involved in the operations or overseeing of the restaurant. Wok Box does not want to jeopardize the brand by having untrained or inexperienced personnel operating the stores. It is critical to note that to a large part the success of a Wok Box franchise depends on the enthusiasm, work ethic, attitude, and entrepreneurial skills of the Franchisee. Therefore Wok Box strongly recommends that Franchisees be actively involved on a day-to-day basis in their restaurant. It will also provide a better support network if Franchisees have questions for management at Wok Box headquarters. |

When we opened the first Doc Chey's in 1997, our goal was simple: operate a neighborhood restaurant that serves our guests affordable, delicious, pan-Asian food.
Although we have been true to our original mission, we quickly learned that we had an even greater mission, and that was to improve the communities we serve. We did this by becoming stakeholders in our neighborhoods and fostering good karma in our communities through various initiatives - dine-outs that support local schools and charitable organization, donations to local organizations for fundraising events, and hosting charitable events like Morningside Mile and Breakfast with Santa.
Through our efforts, we have donated over $200,000 in cash and food to local schools and non-profit organizations. We work hard to live our values everyday - treat others as we wish to be treated and give without expecting anything in return.
We will continue to work hard every day to help make our communities better places to live - one noodle bowl at a time.
