A local company's international venture has already proved successful, scoring Sandler International a new contract in less than 90 days of its establishment. Sandler International has awarded an Area Development Franchise for the nation of Greece to Human Capital Improvement (HC), an executive training company headquartered in Athens. According to Margaret Stevens Jacks, vice president of international development of Sandler International, a division of Sandler Systems, Inc., the award is the first by the new division, which launched less than three months ago. "We are off to a great start," Jacks said. "Europe is an important area to us, and we are pleased that HC will be our first major partner in the region. For a local company to be recognized so early as an international player in the business world hints at a great future." Established in 1996, HC delivers executive training and certification programs to a wide variety of corporate clients in Greece. Known for its Financial Planning programs offered in conjunction with the University of Piraeus, HC has recently expanded its focus to include executive training in areas such as sales, e-business, financial markets and trade. According to Vivian Bouzalis, general director of HC, the Sandler International contract is the first major initiative in this planned expansion. "Sandler programs are known throughout the world for their high quality and focus on results," Bouzalis says. "As the leader in corporate training programs in Greece, we think having the Sandler programs in our arsenal will get us off to a great start." HC plans to focus on corporate accounts initially, and will operate training programs in both Athens and Thessolouiki, serving the southern and northern areas of the country respectively. Bouzalis announced that HC will be fully staffed and serving clients by September. "Well trained sales people are in great demand throughout Greece," she says. "We think the business community is looking for help, and will immediately recognize how well we can meet their training needs." Sandler Systems, Inc. (SSI) Founded in 1983, SSI currently has approximately 160 franchisees throughout the US and Canada providing training services to a broad range of businesses, from small, privately held firms to Fortune 100 companies. The company also provides direct training to corporate clients throughout Europe and the United Kingdom.
