Heading the list of illustrious speakers at the opening ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Shimon Peres, immediately followed by CEO Helen Doron.
Upon mounting the podium, Helen asked the audience, "What is the difference between me and all of the other speakers?" As she started to point out that she was the only female CEO on the agenda, a woman called out enthusiastically, "Because you did it!" and the crowd burst into applause, offering kudos to a small, local, family business that has so far grown to include franchises in more than 20 countries.
The Helen Doron Group is a success story on a number of levels, and an inspiration to anyone who wants to build a business and market it abroad. Small in stature, but gigantic in original ideas, Ms. Doron herself pioneers the research and development of new products, and at the same time, oversees her rapidly growing business empire.
Relating to each Master Franchisor, Learning Centre Franchisor, Teacher Trainer and Teacher on a personal level, Ms. Doron practices what she preaches. "Business is personal, so from Day 1 you must believe in your product's uniqueness." Doron told a captivated audience. "Share your product together with your story and your values. The franchise must be more than a money-making scheme, it needs soul!" No less important to have in place from the beginning, she emphasized, are a solid business model, sets of agreements, an operating manual and an information management system.
As a result of her perseverance and deep belief in her empirically proven methodologies, Helen has managed to successfully change the status quo in the Israeli education system. "It isn't easy, but keep in mind that you are helping people do something good for the world in a turn-key manner." With 33 Master Franchisors, 346 Learning Centres and 2,500 active teachers, The Helen Doron Group leads the way not only in the early education field, but is also an inspiring example of how to effectively franchise worldwide.
