"With the opening of a new office in Gold Coast and South Brisbane, Australia, ALD continues to grow internationally and offer exceptional service to customers around the world," says Stan Berenbaum, CEO of American Leak Detection. "The Nealis couple exemplifies the ambition, strong leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit that keeps our team members succeeding in today's international business environment." Darren and Nerolie Nealis are from Australia and have extensive experience in the international marketplace. They joined the international American Leak Detection family after hearing about the business opportunity from Darren's cousin who operates the North Brisbane/Sunshine Coast franchise office. Darren and Nerolie were immediately interested in the possibilities for an ALD venture in their home town. After deciding to go for it, they flew to the Palm Springs headquarters for extensive technical training. Upon returning to Australia, they continued their training on Australia's Sunshine Coast.
With a solid foundation to grow on and the determination to respond to the demands and needs for water management in Australia, the Nealis couple opened their office. Since opening in May, Nerolie and Darren have discovered there's a very high demand for ALD's services and they've received extremely positive feedback from customers.
"Water conservation is a huge issue in Australia," says Darren Nealis, "and American Leak Detection has taught us the most sophisticated techniques to detect and repair leaks which will help us help our customers save water and money." In the seven years prior to joining American/Australian Leak Detection, Darren and Nerolie worked in the ski industry in both Australia and Aspen, Colorado. They also worked in England which enabled them to travel through Europe and Asia. Additionally, Darren has a background as a computer technician and service manager, and Nerolie has 11 years of experience in banking with the National Australia Bank.
American Leak Detection currently has 130 franchises in the United States, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Guam, Saudi Arabia, Spain and Venezuela. "Our clients can be confident wherever our specialists are located, they're well trained and will deliver the high quality service American Leak Detection guarantees," says Berenbaum.
The ALD franchise training program earned the "Innovative Award" from the Franchise Center at the University of Texas at El Paso in 2000.
